The theory of Camilla Hällgren
has many questions and wants to send them to us through her works. With her pictures she protests, puts issues of reflection, reacts in a society of a few against the many, in an unequal society. She ridicules the status quo by placing it in artificial basis, coloring it in the beautiful colors of a supposed perfection. A land sawn and patched, nails deflating balloons, scrubble dices forming words, environmental issues and uneven weights with spectators losers or winners. Camilla puts her questions and concerns and lets us decide in which side of society we place ourselves and what letters we will choose to make our words.
See no evil hear no evil speak no evil I
What goes around
The kids won’t notice
Sorry, it’s mine
Ruler of the people
The kept bitching about the laws of mechanics
Life is a beach
May the force be with you
Bring it on
To compose the above photos, Camilla Hällgren uses everyday materials and objects, small clay figurines, big ideas and theories and macro technique. And definitely I would add a good mind creating, composing nice told stories.
